Meeting #4 of 1/23/2019

ANNEXATION UPDATE! Please take a moment to read the entire message!

The SHAVE meeting January 23rd went well. Roger Borgelt came to give us an update. Borgelt is the lobbyist we’ve hired to try to get legislation passed that would allow all Shady Hollow residents the right to vote on annexation.

There was a lot of optimism last night on Borgelt’s plan. People are hopeful that we have a decent shot at getting this legislation passed. Bill Aleshire (attorney, former county judge, Shady Hollow resident) seemed pleased with the direction that Roger Borgelt is approaching this issue, and his opinion carries some weight in the neighborhood.

Please DONATE

Finally, we still need donations! Only 5% of the households being annexed have donated. Many people expect to pay $2,000 to $3,000 more in taxes & increased water rates EVERY YEAR after annexation, with nothing to show for it (the City has spent ZERO on infrastructure in Shady Hollow and has not offered any additional services).

Please help get the word out on annexation to your neighbors too! There are flyers available with all the information on annexation. If everyone on this page spent just 15 minutes talking to a couple of neighbors about how much annexation will cost them, the whole neighborhood would be informed in a day or two.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT RIGHT NOW TO DONATE ONLINE AT THE LINK BELOW! A $100 donation (or higher) is a drop in the bucket compared to what you’ll be paying later!

Thank you for your help!
