Meeting of 1/15/2019

Last weeks meeting was a productive meeting with another great group of attendees. Once again, background information was shared with the group regarding the SPA agreement signed between the MUD and the city. Our State Representative, Ms. Vikki Goodwin, joined us and spoke to the group. She spoke with the city and asked if we could just not be annexed. The city was not in agreement with that. They are concerned that if they make exceptions for our SPA agreement it will disrupt the many neighborhoods in Houston (around 300) with SPA agreements. Vikki said she will do what she can to help support Shady Hollow.

Electronic donations are still in the works. We were trying to do donations through Facebook, but we do not qualify for their non profit page, and we do not qualify for a “shop” page. We have not given up hope and will give more updates at the meeting tomorrow night. Flyers have been created to hand out to our neighbors. Several have expressed interest in walking the neighborhood to hand these out. We hope to have some at tomorrow’s meeting to give to attendees. We have a website created as well. Information should be added shortly. Other attendees at the meeting expressed interest in yard signs to place in their yards to share the information. We will give an update on this at the meeting as well.

We currently are up to 69 donators. Thank you all so much for your support. We have collected $13,000 at this point in time, and were able to sign our contract with Roger Borgelt. He is currently working on our behalf. Roger WILL be at the meeting tomorrow night. We would love for all of you to attend and hear what he has to say as well as ask any questions you may have. Please encourage your neighbors to join us. As always, I will do my best to share information that we have.
